Walkerwood (Exciting Times)

Posted: May 13, 2017 by Davebailiff in Uncategorized

Well, the nicer weather is upon us and with it comes the prospect of more time to get on the bank. Walkerwood Reservoir is the newest water to become available to CAC members and offers the opportunity to land some big roach and monster perch. There have been some nice fish caught recently, the roach looking immaculate as they fall into the hands of the happy anglers seeking their elusive, fast biting quarry.

The perch have been deep bodied, greedy and brightly red finned, falling to both float and swimfeeder. These fish are in great condition!

Do yourself a favour, get on the bank. Walkerwood is waiting……with it a great days fishing.

Work will begin Sunday 8th Jan to open up several pegs and then we can start to fish this fantastic water once your membership has been upgraded and a site induction has been completed. Existing member will be required to pay an additional £10, £5 for OAP’s/concessions.  We are a non profit club so this small increase is to help cover the cost and we believe will prove excellent value once you start to fish the reservoir. For new memberships please refer to the membership page.

We have had limited access to the water but we can confidently say it really is a special place. Not only is it set in beautiful surroundings, the fishing is top quality and unspoilt as it has been a fly fishery for the past 30 years. Silver fishing is up there amongst the best we have experienced and it’s backed up with trout and specimen carp. Bream are present and there are reports of Pike, Theroux trout and Tench. Sizes are unknown but we do know they all go to specimen sizes and we are sure some special fish reside in this un-tapped reservoir. We can’t wait to start getting catch reports back from our members to see what surprises it holds !

Millbrook Dam

Posted: May 19, 2013 by Carrbrook Angling in Uncategorized

Carrbrook Angling Club have secured a long term lease with the owners of Millbrook Dam that gives us exclusive rights to fishing on the venue.

We are looking at this as a long term project and our aim is to return this historic water back to it’s former glory. With good access and car parking we would like to provide disabled access to the water and explore options for creating kids fishing on site.

The water is available immediately to fish to any Carrbrook Angling Club members and there is a limited amount of original fish still in the water that include some good specimen fish but we will look at stocking supplementary fish as soon as we have a clear picture of current stocks.

With this in mind please can we ask our members to report any catches.
