Walkerwood and possible monster fish

Lovely to see the dam starting to fill out now after being a building site for so long. Nature is starting to do what she does best and make the place look natural again and the habitat we wanted to create is starting to take shape. There’s plenty of stuff going on under the water as well you cant see !

Update on the Millbrook page about end of year activities and plans for the future

Here are some images of fish caught in the last week or so on Rainwater. Catch reports for Carp have been pretty impressive with good numbers being reported.

Catch report from Walkerwood have been good with anglers reporting lots of action to the maggot feeder of roach and Perch up to 2lb and the usual mix of Bream, Ruud and Trout. A Carp has been reported but we still await the 1st report of the huge Tench which are said to inhabit this impressive venue.

A couple of Members have tried Millbrook dam and we have had a report of a large Koi being caught.

This water can be found within the grounds of Stalybridge Country Park and is around an acre in size. There is a car park for the country park which is free and is a very short walk to the water. As said previously this water is still in it’s raw state and requires work.
